So for years I have had an urge to get a lot of tattoos, colourful sleeves especially are something I love on other women. So far I only have a tiny one on my foot. My husband has sleeves himself so wouldn't care, and it is accepted in my career. There is something holding me back though, Im not sure whether i am worried I would regret it later in life, or whether I am worried what other people would think of me?
Has anybody had these same thoughts before getting (visible) tattoos, and then ended up regretting it, or got over your fear and now love them?
Thanks![]()

I am 38 and have a tattoo on my chest. I love it as much today as I did when I had it done 15 years ago.
Mine can be seen sometimes at work, well partly seen and it is no problem. In fact I have a bit of a chuckle to myself when I notice someone trying to check it out.
I want a couple more but the idea of pain is putting me off not the prospect of any regrets.
I am not sure that I would get a sleeve done as that I might regret in 20 years time, but then again it could make me a very cool grandmotherLast edited by MsTruth; 11-04-2013 at 16:21.

I hav two but they are between my shoulder blades low enoughto cover with most shirts and singlets. I've wanted to get more colourful an visible tattoos but then majorly fear not liking them as not been able to cover them easily enough. DH also has a sleeve and has no issues with it but I'm just way too fearful about regretting them and not being able to easily cover then. It's so damn conflicting

Have you thought about getting fake tattoo/henna done to see how you like it?
If you have reservations I would do that first. I have several visible tattoos (one arm has a blossom vine from the top of my shoulder to halfway down my forearm - so no hiding that) and I do regret one, but mostly because it is of something stupid and it's a really bad job. It's on my inner wrist. If it was on my back or somewhere hidden I would just forget about it but I hate it and will get it removed once I can afford it.

I have two and yes I regret one of them. I can only cover it with a certain piece of clothing which makes things tricky in the workplace or during summer. I have recently thought about getting it removed by laser but haven't actually researched further yet.

I have 4 and regret my third, it's a matching one I got with my ex when I was 19. Stupid idea.
Is it painful to get laser removal? And expensive?
