At least she called. I've just moved into our new house and the place is a mess. I had people 'pop' in on the first day when I was trying to unpack and more unwelcome sticky-beaks throughout the week.

    Yes I agree, forgiven

But I also agree in future get a time or approximate time. Save the stress. I try to do this (mind you no one pops in here). But if I'm popping in somewhere I will say an approximate time.

I wish I had your morning tea, however it is 3am. That's a bit too morning

Tardy Aunt just called to say she's 'on her way over'. Any bets on what time she'll be here? I'm putting money on 11, just when MIL is coming to pick me up to go for lunch

i was in my pj's, dd was still in hers eating breakfast. i was in the middle of vaccuming. ds wouldnt have his nap so was in his bouner grizzling. i stopped everything and just let her into my bombsite. not like i could tell her its not a good time, she was already at my doorstep and dd saw her dd ect.
I wouldnt mind, but for an hr and a half she just sat there and looked around at the mess. all i was thinking was omg im sooooo embarrasd right now and i feel like crap shes seen me and the house like this.

A friend of mine's Dad who I don't know from a bar of soap and never socialise with just 'popped in' without calling/warning yesterday. I was backing out to go pick up my son from school early from misbehaving and was in a real mood/upset about it when I spotted him leaning over the car from the driveway.. Pulled up he said he brought biscuits and wanted a coffee :/

When I told him I had to pick up my misbehaving son and bring him home he said he'd wait. I felt so awkward/wierd about it that when I came back I got a pretend ph call and told him I had to leave. He still asked to go inside and use my toilet but I felt s wierd about it I waited outside with kids in car while he did then I left feeling really strange and came back later when he was gone..

Told my hubby about it who rang him and told him its best we all catch up organised and as a group when seeing my actual friend then later my friend called saying he was offended/upset about my husband calling him. :S

I would have forgiven your Aunt with all those yummies!!

You poor thing! I'm one who really appreciates some notice when people visit. Even if it's just an hour notice, it gives you time to whip around and at least straighten up a bit (or do what I call a 'faux clean' ).

Kiplusthree - what a freaky dude turning up randomly like that!
