Don't say you fell on your fanny (bum in America) to an Australian!

I used to teach ski school for 4-6 year olds at resort at home where lots of Aussies work for a season. One of the little girls said to her male Aussie ski instructor that she fell on her fanny and he was mortified! Didn't know what to say or do until I explained she meant her bottom!

Nursing refers to either breast feeding, or just having a cuddle with the babu

DD1s friends boyfriend came over from the UK. He said he needed to buy a vest, so she took him shopping and showed him several vests. When, rather confused, he asked why she was showing him waist-coats, she asked what he called a vest. He pointed out some singlets.

DH calls my food processor a booza... Oh it's so annoying. He also says swimmers where I say bathers. He's from NSW I'm a born and bred VIC girl. I'd also say juice box, pot, pint and schooner
