I'm a Queenslamder living in WA - always get told we say things weird!

    Cheerios - cocktail frankfurts
    nikko - permanent marker
    whipper snipper - 'weed whacker'
    refredex - street directory
    fly screen - fly wire
    Devon - polony
    Pop up sprinklers - retic
popper - 'prima' or juice box

(first word is what I would say as a QLDer, 2nd word is what my WA mates or those from other states say)

I also call the thing you hold a beer in (stubby holder) a 'beer cozy.' It's keeping your hand (or the beer) cozy!

A sloppy joe was a like a fleecy sweat shirt or like a track suit top!

In the states a sloppy joe is a messy sandwich made with hamburger meat and a sauce, sometimes like chili in a burger bun. Mmmmmmmm.
