    Default Traveling on Due Date?

If you didn't care where you gave birth and were comfortable driving... Would you drive 5 hours away from home the fortnight of your due date for a family gathering?

Personally I wouldn't, but I need csections for my births and if I was to go into labour I'd be in trouble so I have to stay close to my hospital of choice.
I would be scared I'd get caught out on the drive.

I'd be much too nervous to, but I'm also a very nervous person lol. If you feel you were up to the drive and you don't care about what hospital then I suppose there's nothing wrong with going?

Are there hospitals along the way or is it nothing in sight until you get there?

Yep i would go. My births/labours have been fairly easy and straight foward though.

I'm due with my first now and I wouldn't ( even if I wasn't going private) partly for the comfort factor. I find sitting on my **** at work all day uncomfortable, and I at least get to walk around ( and go to the toilet every hour lol)

The other possibility is having bub before due date and potentially travelling with a very new newborn...???

I would - just take a packed hospital bag just in case. And make sure you stop half way for a stretch.
