My 9 week old baby girl absolutely HATES the car. We have gone in 4 different cars, all have the same car seat and she hates it.
She can be tired, fed and burped and relaxed. We put her in and within a few minutes shes screaming, crying and just generally hating it.
Ive tried music, singing to her, etc and nothing works.
I have just gone with it lately as theres nothing I can do while Im driving but God its distracting and I can see how people have accidents because her screaming really gets to me....
Any suggestions or ideas? She isnt uncomfortable, we have the straps firm but not tight or lose. She isnt hot or cold.....
She just hates it!

Unfortunately there was nothing that worked for me, it just meant not driving long distances. Now he is 17 months he is still not a huge fan of the car but we bought a DVD player which seems to have helped a little.

Some babies just hate it. My DD2 screamed her little lungs out until she was about 6 months old, now she is 1 she still cries in the car.
Sorry, no helpful advice, but I feel your pain.

I second DVD players. I started very young with it. Doesn't stop it but does help a bit.

Nothing worked for us. In the end I bought a really good baby carrier and walked or caught the tram.
If I needed to get anything like groceries I shopped at night without her.
It didn't stop til she was well over one.

What kind of car seat do you have?
Does she cry when you put her down at home? Just asking because maybe its just that she's not being held more than being in the car...

My dd1 screamed till we turned the seat around at 6mths. Hugs. I understand and feel your pain. I used PT and walked as much as possible.
