Even if they were the same colour it wouldn't matter - they're only accessories, whereas I assume her bridesmaids would be in that colour dress - so you'd still look totally different.

What about gold? It would make the dress 'pop'. Although I think colour blocking can look great, sometimes you can look like an extra from Hi5 or The Wiggles.
