i had a cvs at 11w and an amnio at 15w with this pregnancy. the amnio was way better, less painful than the cvs

i would practice relaxing your body and not tensing up. the needle part is over within 2-3 minutes, but the build up can be terrifying. just concentrate on sending calming vibes to your bub and release tension from your body.

PM me if you want more advice or want to read my blog entry about the cvs (which is very similar to the amnio). xx

I too was very scared to say the least. But I must say that it didn't hurt she said she was putting in the needle and I was waiting for the pain but it didn't come and then she said it was in, when they drew out the fluid it felt strange but didn't hurt. I was uncomfortable afterwards at the needle site for about 24hrs and then some very mild cramping the next day. Waiting for the results is really hard.

I'm in the same position. I'm having am amnio in around two-three weeks. I'm also freaking out. I'm going to worry sick before the amnio, and then waiting for the results, as well as the week after due to the risk of miscarriage.

I know how you feel. It's scary

I'm actually in the same position. My scan was great, bloods were awful. Please fill us in on how the amnio goes. I'm sure it will all go well

Goat ~ I'd be worried, too, but realistically, the chance of miscarriage in the week after is way less than the chance of natural early miscarriage, anyway. Good luck everyone, and try not to stress!
