I need ideas for my little sister's 21st this year. Initially I wanted to get her 21 of something - maybe shot glasses or fountain pens or something else engraveable, then get each one engraved with a memory of the two of us from each year of her life.
I like that idea, but then I think - who wants 21 of the same thing to try to find space for in their house??
So I'm after some inspiration of a thoughtful gift I can get her that she can keep forever ...

I so love that idea! Could you do it as a beautiful notebook/photo book instead? I just think it's beautiful...

My sister made me a photo album filled with photos from the day I was born to now. I love it so much she spent so much time and effort decorating it and it's beautiful. I get it out and look all the time!

I didn't get it for my 21st but I think my 18th but I got a blanket box for use as a kind of glory box. I keep all of special mementos in there along with dh's and most likely ds's.
it's lovely although the only problem is getting one that won't age as I got a wicker one and it doesn't suit my house but dark wood is pretty timeless.

I got a notebook with pens, stickers n stamps with a 100 photo film pack for a Polaroid camera. The guest then supplied use of her camera n people snapped their own shot, stuck the pic in n wrote whatever they wanted-the pics r hilarious, the stories are even better (as some came back after 100drinks) n I love looking at it

I got a watch from my Nan which is engraved on the back. I'm still wearing it 20 years later. She chose a lovely classic style which still suits today.

From my sisters I got pandora beads I think your idea was super thoughtful and sweet! Also like the photo book gift following your idea as a PP suggested. What about a locket?

My friends parents wrote her a poem about being 21 and giving her 21 things she couldn't live without
Really touching I think if you know your child/friend whoever, well enough to get them their most favourite 21 things
