    No I would not give myself one. My midwife did it at my house though.

    Safe if you knew what you were doing and wore sterile gloves I guess but I'd imagine it would be difficult with a baby belly in the way!

    OP, I had one with DD2, had mild cramping and bleeding, woke the next day in pre labour, went into proper labour that night and had her just after midnight.

    I had one with #3, I left the hospital with pre labour contractions. 2 days later I only just made it to hospital and had a very quick birth, actual labour was only 1 hour...I didn't even make it to the bed!! lol

    I had one. It was painful for me but didn't last long. I had it done at 3pm. I started cramping on the way home and went into labor that night, had baby next morning at 7am.

    I had two. One at 39 weeks and one at 40, I went 5 days over.
