    Default Lactation consultant Melbourne?

I am having ongoing issues with feeding my 4mth old - cracked bleeding nipples due to poor attachment/pulling on and off. I have had a day stay at the hospital he was born at when he was a week or so old and have been to see the LC at a local drop in support centre twice. Going to give it one more chance today but I am thinking I might need to consider a private LC. Does anyone have recommendations for a good LC in South east melb? And any idea of how much they cost?

I saw Leonie Maybury. She's based in Rowville but travels. I have no idea how much she cost but whatever it was, she was worth every cent. I fully expected to pack it in after 4 weeks. 8 months later I'm still BFing. She was excellent.

Thank you so much for your tips. I looked up Leonie Maybury and will give her a call - her credentials say IBCLC but I can't seem to find her on the website MissieMack posted though....weird. Maybe her listed credentials aren't up to date? Do those registered as an IBCLC need to meet ongoing requirements to keep their registration or is it a once off thing?

She's definitely a certified lactation consultant. If you have the right cover you can claim a rebate from your private health fund.
