I am scheduled next week for surgery at the Women's Hospital in Randwick. The procedure is completely covered by Medicare.

It it has only taken 3 months from sending in my referral from GP. I am so excited.

We we have decided to go with reversal because I am a great candidate for the surgery. I have filshie clips and age on my side. Another factor we had to consider was our remote location. It would not be practical to make the 8 hour hike to Sydney or pay the expensive flights regularly to go through IVF.

    Will post after op.

This isn't a recent thread but I wanted to add my experience.

We were advised ivf was a more successful avenue ( new partner tubes tied in 2003 )

2 x full ivf cycles, 2 fresh embryo transfers & 2 frozen transfers = zero success.

Had tubal reversal surgery December 2012 ( almost 10 yrs after I'd had them clipped )
Got pregnant in march but mc straight away, got pregnant again in august & all still going well now almost halfway.

Thanks for sharing @outbradybunch. I'm looking into doing IVF early this coming year and if we have no luck then I'll go down the reversal route. Congrats on your pregnancy

I had my tubes tied in 1999 after 2 babies.. I had an ectopic about 9 weeks later which resulted in me losing my left tube.... I re married in 2002 and we tried IVF, fell pregnant but lost it.... but I wasn't surprised as I have a high miscarriage rate vs birth rate.. I know a few ppl who have had successful pregnancies with IVF with tubes tied... good luck
