My DH had a few analysis done with ranges between 93 and 98% abnormal. We eventually got pregnant using clomid as it upped our chances of a 'good one' meeting an egg. Just another option to think about. Our first FS didn't offer this, wanted to do IVF straight away but we weren't ready. Second FS told us that chances weren't fantastic but worth ruling out. We now have an 11 month old due to our 2nd clomid cycle

98% abnormal sperm morphology is apparently considered normal. Anywhere between 2%-6% is still in a normal ramge as long as they are great swimmers.

We have just finished 3 x IUI. Once his sperm were washed during the preparation process (where they remove lots of the dodgy ones) about 30% of the sperm used were excellent morphology. So yes natural BFPs can happen, but I'm thinking they might be pretty rare.

We are now moving on to IVF.
Good luck with your IVF journey

Elasti - did your doctor tell you 2% is normal? According to the information sheet our fertility specialist gave us, the World Health Organisation states that a minimum of 30% perfect morphology is required for a sample to be considered 'normal'. That was basically why we decided to try assisted fertility treatment, because the Dr said with such abnormally low morphology rates our single natural pregnancy was probably a fluke and unlikely to happen again.

Yes, the doctor and the urologist both said we should be ok to fall pregnant naturally and that it was considered normal for a lot of fertile men to have an abnormal morphology of 96%-98%. They said the problem wasn't the abnormal sperm, because he has some really strong ones, he just wasn't shooting very high numbers. they told us to try for a year and if nothing happened, then to go back.
