    Default Formula? ?

    My boy is 17 weeks old and has been bottle fed for the last 6 werks or so. He had a mixture of ebm and formula. We started with Bellamy organic but he was never keen on it and wouldnt drink it straight - had to be mixed with ebm.

    So about 2 1/2 weeks ago I tried s26 gold and he loved it. All was going well until the last few days where he's been fussy, and today constipated. He really has not been drinking enough over the past 3-4 days especially during the day. Should I persist or change formula again - if so which one? The nurse I spoke to today was more in favor of persisting and trying sugar water between feeds

    Drop the gold and try s26 plain. The extra iron can block them up

    I agree to try the non-gold. DD was mixed fed (mostly BM at that age) and anything gold made her constipated.

    We're trying novolac constipation formula on the advice of our pharmacist - so far he seems to like it Fingers crossed that it does the trick!

    We are using Karicare and so far so good... My cousin recommended it as she went through a few types with her little girl and its the only one that seemed to have the least side effects... With the mixing of EBM and formula I was told by a dietician not to mix them in the same bottle, as enzymes in the EBM can affect the formula... Good luck with it!
