    I didnt know there was a "right" and "wrong" way until this thread. Ive just found that mine stay in better when its bumpy side down.

    Just to throw another spanner in the works - I use my bobby pins in a completely different way - I don't like them to be seen at all so I always slightly turn my hair a little and spear them in kind of opened. My hairdresser taught me this. Holds your hair tighter and the bobby pins never fall out.
