    We bought the house!! We were highest bidder against around 4 other people.
    I think we paid approx $27000-$33000k more than market value after my research, however prices are starting to rise in this area again. All you hear in real estate now is that prices are starting to pick up again here in Melbourne.

    He just asked for offers, and someone offered $450,000 so the ball rolled from there.

    I think we had an advantage over the first home buyers as we are second home buyers and made a profit from the sale of our first home

    Ohhh I forgot to mention that the guy we won against turned up just before auction time in a fancy sports car, perhaps to intimidate the other bidders ? However we stood up the front, were confident and didn't let him think we noticed him.
