Have a look at pinterest. That is my first stop for party ideas. There are lots of ideas for The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

It depends how much time and effort you want to put it. It would be really awesome to base all the food around what he eats like fruit platter with all the fruit and all the other things like lollipops, cheese cubes etc and make little signs with photocopies from the book to place around the food table. I don't know about children's ages but if there's older children could play pin the wings on the butterfly or have a caterpillar hunt instead of a treasure hunt and hide laminated caterpillar pictures in the garden.

An apple corer is great to make caterpillar holes through your food.

Oh man I'm obsessed with the VHC. So far my 3 month old has a VHC onesie, 4 VHC outfits, a VHC rocker and cushion and a VHC blanket lol. I would recommend Target, eBay and this website http://www.characterparties.com.au/p...y-caterpillar/ that one is the best I have found for party stuff
