Re leaving babies to cry, I've popped in a link which is good to read if you are considering it. This is a very controversyl topic and I'm not posting to upset people or press any buttons I just think everyone should be aware of the evidence before making the decision to try it. Also if you research AP parenting style you might find a sleeping technique that suits you but is also healthy for baby.

The Australian Association for Infant Mental Health also has info on crying etc and if you choose to do what age is best.

Thanks Beta, ill have a read, see if it might suit us
I was against letting her cry, but so many people I talk to say that's how they did it, including my mum ( with all 5 of us).
It is a touchy topic and each to their own I suppose, parenting in general is touchy and we all will do it a little differently.
Haven't had much sleep, feel like death and nurses come in so often and don't just wake me but ivy too!! She isn't used to noise and light at night.
Hope this op fixes me today. I need my energy back.

For those who fall asleep feeding their baby or would like to go to sleep with baby feeding this link is worth reading (SIDS Australia) (not for FF babies tho)
Best of luck everyone with your babies, and sleep it can all be so tough.
Nic I hope you feel better after the surgery, a complication you didn't need!

Very true Nic parenting is a very personal choice and we must do what is right for our families. My mother used the method too.

Nic- let us know how you go. I'm sorry the nurses are keeping you up.. That sux!
Ella did her first 8 hours last night. 10-6.
She was stirring so I woke her and she won't feed! It's doing my head in!
I changed her, waited for her to get upset, put her on and she sucked for 2 mins and passed out!
Love the sleep, just frustrated!
She ate a lot yesterday, I just thought she would be hungry after 8 hours!
