A few ideas that come to mind...depending on
    budget...

A gift basket you've put together yourself of things he loves...

A coffee table book with photos of all your fun times together...

A red balloon experience...ie my DH is from Melbourne and I want to give him one for a scenic bike ride through Melb with lunch in a nice restaurant...

A watch with something loving inscribed on the back...

    A night in a B & B, bit of honeymoon reenactment

    Default 1st wedding anniversary gift???

I got DH a really nice photo album. Big wooden cover with a spot for a pic on the front of us. I then made up a couple of pages with pics & stories from our first couple of years together, our wedding, etc. it has about 60 pages & can be refilled with extras if needed. My theory is we put together 1-2 pages per year, including a page for each baby.

I have a few pages to catch up on, but 2 babies in 2 years will do that to you.

    Default 1st wedding anniversary gift???

We stick to the traditional/modern gifts listed for each year. From memory the first was paper & we wrote each other a love letter. It was the most special anniversary gift I've ever given & received & meant a lot to me. We also went away for a couple of days & went out for a really nice dinner. Good luck, anniversary gifts can be tricky!

I bought my husband a square foot of land in Scotland which means he is now a "lord". Lol. You can change your title on your license and everything!!
He bought me a voucher off redballoon.com.

Lol, I bought this for my dads 45th birthday a few years ago. He loves everything about Scotland and thought it was great. He now writes 'laird' in the title section of nonserious documents.

From memory about $45.....? I was in uni so it can't have been a huge amount of money. Just do a google search. The company I bought it from also allowed you to purchase a star and have it named after your family member, which I thought was also cool.

Yeah it's about $50 for a square foot. It's all conserved land, etc. they plant trees and you can even go camp on it!
I got ours through Highland titles just on the Internet.
