    Default Ergo baby carrier help

I just purchased a ergo sports baby carrier for my 7 week old who is 6.2 kgs. On the box it said infant insert needed for 3-5.5 kg so I didn't bother getting one. When I was reading the instruction manual At home it said an insert is needed until 3-4 months.
So I have a couple of questions-
    1) is the insert really needed
    2) will my little chubby girl be too big for it anyway
    3) I have read online a few reviews from people saying they used a blanket rolled up instead of insert because insert was a hassle. Has anybody done this and is it safe ?
Im confused by the whole thing so any advice would be appreciated .

    Default Ergo baby carrier help

The only thing to do is to put it on with your baby in it to see how comfortable it is, which I assume you did in the shop before you bought it? I wouldn't buy a carrier I hadn't tried on with a baby in it.
Going by weight, you won't need the insert, ignore age because all babies are different weights at different ages.

    Default Ergo baby carrier help

We tried it on in the shop and walked around for about 15 mins and baby fell straight asleep . I thought she looked a bit awkward but thought that was because I was used to baby bjorn carrier ( which I still have but it hurts my back to much so don't want to use again) . I guess if she was uncomfortable she would let me know ?

When DD was little I just rolled up a towelling nappy and stuck it under her bum to boost her height. You can also tie a ribbon around the bottom just to cinch it in a bit (but so you still get knee to knee coverage) to make it more comfortable for legs sticking out.
