Default Re: did your second/subsequent bulbs have reflux.?

My first had nothing, second had reflux really bad.
I was the only one to have reflux out of my mothers kids. I'm the middle child. The other 2 never had it.

I don't think one child having it is any indicator of whether subsequent children will have it or not.

Both of mine had reflux. I'd thought surely my second would be better, but he was much, much worse.

Default did your second/subsequent bulbs have reflux.?

DD had reflux which wasn't diagnosed until 10 weeks after 6 weeks of screaming. Doctors just kept saying 'babies cry!'.

DS started screaming at 3 weeks old inconsolably for an hour or 2 every night. Poor little guy was in so much pain. Went to the regular GP and she said it was colic. I tried gaviscon infant and that worked so got a prescription from the paed as the GP still wouldn't help me. He is now 6 weeks old and doesn't need the gaviscon as the Losec is working.

It is easier second time round as you know what signs to look for and how to help bub.

Just another note the paed suggested that you are likely to have a baby with reflux if you already have a reflux baby and also if parents had reflux. Don't know how true this is.

DH and I both had colic as babies and I am sure this is the old term for silent reflux as all symptoms etc are basically the same.

My first had reflux, and was medicated with zantac liquid. My second didn't have reflux.
