    Unhappy Baby won't stop sleep-crawling!

My DS has been crawling for nearly two months now (he's 9mo) and he even does it in his sleep - it drives me crazy because he inevitably crawls to the top of his cot, bangs his head and wakes up crying! This goes on ALL NIGHT! I've got Airwrap mesh bumpers around the edges of his cot, but it doesn't seem to matter - I still hear the *thump...WAAAAHHH!!* pattern over and over during the night. He also gets tangled in his Grobag because he rolls and crawls around so much.

Has anyone else had this problem with their bub? What did you do about it? I know everyone says it's normal for babies to want to practice their new skills 24/7, but shouldn't he have stopped by now? I really think it's one of the reasons I'm having such a hard time with his night-waking - he can't get back to sleep because he's tangled and in an uncomfortable position (I also think teething pain is contributing to his waking in the first place).

    Default Baby won't stop sleep-crawling!

I can't offer any advice except to say that DS is 11 months and exactly the same. We cosleep so I'm able to stop him before he hits his head (most of the time).

Hey, my little one used to do this to....it was because he wasn't getting into a deep sleep and very restless. What you said about the teething pain might be contributing. Have you given him some pain relief for that ? Does it make a difference?
They do grow out of it....eventually!

My dd is a wriggler in her sleep and it is funny to watch on the video monitor. She'll roll & crawl all over the place and when she was in bed with me a month or so ago she sat straight up & threw herself away from me, but I'm 99% sure she was fully asleep! Scary stuff as dh was away, so she nearly fell out of bed!

If you think the Grobag is an issue, then stop using it would be my recommendation. Is it very long past his feet? Maybe try another brand that is more snug fitting so it can't get so tangled in theory. Or just try him without a sleeping bag. My dd doesn't wake up when she bumps into the cot sides, she seems comfy next to them actually and will roll/wriggle/etc until she's up against a cot side.

Yep same prob here but dd2 is 8mths and crawling backwards.

We still swaddle tho with arms out.

Wait till they can stand up in the cot but not work out how to get back down. Oh happy days! Not!!!
