Default Why did you have your elective c-section?

OB's suggestion due to babies size.

I am not sure that this was really a problem when I look back on it, but either way I was happy to have a c-section as it seemed easier than giving birth (I know that some/many would disagree but I found my c-section very easy and virtually pain free)

It was going to be just for twins when the lead twin was presenting breech (and the second twin transverse).

It ended up being because the Dr didn't want my pre-eclampsia blood pressure pushed higher - and the lead twin also turned transverse in the 12 hours prior to delivery.

Had 2 of them, each time as babies were transverse and would not budge. I often think what the outcome could have been in days without c-sections and am thankfully that we are all here safe and sound.

My first was an emergency c/s but my second was elective. Both babies were transverse with an unstable lie. I also had babies over 4kg.
With the elective it was all very calm & relaxed - I had a great experience.

    DD1 was breech.

Elective c/s was so much nicer and relaxed than DD2's emergency one!

I had an elective c-section with DD as she was breech and I declined an ECV.

With my first I had an emergency c/s. After labouring for 24 hours and in extreme pain for the last 6 - was in a private hospy....they couldnt get a anathestiolgist out so I was unable to have an epi for 6 hours then they finally got one. Bubs was in distress and hb was really low. When they moved me from bed to trolley to go get the c/s the midwife pulled the epi out of my back. Went into theatre and had to have a spinal block. They put too much in and I went into respitory and cardiac arrest. DP thought I had died and I spent 45 mins in theatre while DP was outside holding DS in complete shock and not knowing what was going on, if I was dead or alive.

He said next time I am having an elective c/s as there is no way he could face doing that again...it tore him apart. So with DS2 I had an elective c/s.

I certainly wasnt too 'posh to push' but I was so scared of what happened with DS1 would happen again.
