    Default I really need advice *possible trigger*

    I would try and figure out a way to come up with the $50 a week OR look at ways for her to stay with you.

    If you rent perhaps getting somewhere bigger and splitting the rent, or if you own could convert a garage or something as a temporary measure

    If you're outside of a lease, there is no limit to how much they can increase your rent (in qld anyway). You have every right to try to negotiate. You don't have to just 'take it', but they are allowed to do it.

    My landlord tried to put my rent up from $400 - $615 per week. We negotiated to $520 and at the end of that 6 month lease they put it up again to $570.
    Now they're going to sell it and we will have to move anyway.
