Default How many days did you stay in hospital after your elective?

I think this might vary greatly depending on the hospital policy. DD1 was an emergency at 10:30pm. I stayed 3 nights including (was supposed to be 4 but I fibbed to get out early)

DD2 was elective at 10am. Stayed 3 nights and pushed for them to discharge me early! They recommended four. I would have left at 2 nights if Dd hadn't had low blood sugar.

While I think it is silly to go against a doctors advice if there is a reason, there was no need at all for me to stay for the extra night either time. I couldn't wait to get home. On the other hand, I know plenty of women who have stayed as long as they were allowed to they cannot physically force you to stay, nor should they push you out if you need more time.

I left on midwife support program, which means a midwife came to me house to check in my daughter and I.

I was discharged after 10 days, but milk still hadn't come in yet. I only went home 4 days after that when bubs were discharged (I had stayed on in my room as a boarder).

I always stay 3 nights by choice as I hate hospitals and usually keen to get home to my family. I'm sure I could even go home earlier but my doctors never like the idea.

Yes, I have had all 3 of my babies in a public hospital and had it every time. The catch at my hospital is you have to leave 2-3 days after c-section. I had my daughter in afternoon on 18th December and left on 20th. They came to my house until 24th and called me on 26th.

I've had 3 c/s, I had bubs on Friday arvo and discharged on the Sunday morning. Can you tell I don't enjoy hospital? They were private so I'm not sure if that's any different to public.

I had 2 elective csections in a private hospital.

DD I stayed for 6 days as I had the epidural migraines, and DD had jaundice and was in special care.

With DS I had him Wed morning and went home Friday morning, so two nights (my choice!)
