Default My 3 day old has been awake 11 hours straight

Thank you everyone. I'm too tired to type much but she is much more settled today and feeding 2-3 hourly. Hope it stays this way. Thanks for all the wonderful advice and support.

My DD was like that on day 3. We were still in hospital though so the midwife took her for a couple of hours. The midwife said DD was sucking constantly to try to GT my milk to come in fully. She was still awake at 6am when DH came back and settled straight away for him to but as soon as she was near me she cried unless I was feeding her. It settled down the next night though when I was making enough milk to keep her happy.

Buy a comfy recliner (not a glider, a super comfy lazy boy) and rock the baby to sleep on you. Then kick out the foot rest and sleep there yourself.

As others have said it will get better and don't be afraid of formula.

DS and DD both did that for 4 days straight! But did settle after my milk came in.
Maybe try a bit of formula and see if it makes any difference?

Can you feed lying down? That way you might get some sleep.

I found that my DS LOVED to sleep face down in my arms..so Id feed him and put him to bed and if he woke up and wouldnt resettle, Id turn him face down on my arm and rock him to sleep that way. Might be worth a shot if she is unsettled again.
