    Default Tried to skip period

Ok so last week I was meant to start my period but I skipped it. I just kept taking my pill. So today I woke up and went to the loo and there was a lot of blood(like my first day of my period). Should I keep taking my active pill as per normal or start my sugar tablets and have a normal period?

Sometimes if I skip I might get a little bit of blood but not like this.

I hope I don't freak you out, but I tried this and got the same thing as you and mucked it all up and found myself pregnant unexpectedly!! best thing to do is ask ur gp what is the best way to go about the pills.

    Default Tried to skip period

It depends on what sort of pill you're on. I used to do this with Levelen- I could skip 2x months but then my body would have a period anyway on the 3rd consecutive month I tried to skip it! I just kept taking pills as though nothing had happened.
I didn't try on Trifeme(triphasic pill) I thought I might muck that up abit too much by trying-but I wasn't on it very long.
A friend was on a lower dose pill (I think that's what it was anyway- this was quite a long time ago now) and was told because it was a lower dose she wouldn't be able to skip her period.

Thanks ladies. I definitely don't want to fall pregnant. I just kept taking them as nothing happened. Fingers crossed it stops.

I could never skip my period on my previous pill (microgynon 20ed). I would skip the sugar pills and get it anyway.
Just make sure you keep taking your pill anyway as normal. You'll just have a shorter reprieve inbeteween periods .

Now I'm on microgynon 30ed and I can skip my period. So if you want to do it in the future, talk to your doctor about swapping

I would just keep taking them as you are.

I am on Microgynan 50 as anything lower I am unable to skip. I used to be able to skip on a lower dose but after my second child it did not work.

I can now skip about 4 or 5 before I start to spot then I know it is time so I go on the sugar pills for a week.

I have been thinking about trying the new pill that is designed to be used continually for 3 or 4 months (I can't remember the exact time frame). Which means that you don't get a period for the entire time.
