I've had to stop takin my pregnancy Multi-Vitamins because they were giving me terrible constipation and stomach aches each morning. Since I stopped taking them so have the symptoms but I feel bad for not giving bubs the extra vitamins! I'm still taking folic acid tablets and I know vitamins are not a necessity but I would rather be taking them to be sure.
Has anyone else had this trouble and did u find another Multi-Vitamin that didn't clog you up lol

Re: Pregnancy Multi-Vitamins...
I haven't had the constipation problem, but so long as you're eating plenty of healthy food it should be ok

I found elevit didn't clog me up but once I stopped them bam constipated.
I now take natures way pregnancy gummy vitamins but they're basic folic acid, b vitamins and vitamin D.
I think if you're taking folic acid then you shouldn't worry too much.

I couldn't take Elevit, the amount of iron in there made me so crampy and constipated. I changed to Blackmores Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Gold and they don't affect me at all. Maybe try another brand? It's probably the amount of iron in them causing you tummy upset.

I've been taking elevit, as I did with my first pg, and yeah, they can be pretty horrid. I need the iron though as I suffer a bit from low iron levels at times. I also have piles (developed during my first pg) which flare up every time I go to the toilet as a result. The only thing I have found to help with constipation is to drink copious amounts of water (which is super hard when that much water makes me sick too). Doesn't help much with the cramping and flatulence though After about 2 weeks I think I'm starting to settle down, but they really aren't nice. I put up with them as a necessary evil.
