Default Trying to work out my budget

    Hi all!

I am trying to work out my budget as a single parent of 2 (aged 8 months and 5.5 years). I am trying to be 'self sufficient' as I won't be able to rely on my ex at all and being on centrelink is not comfortable for me (no judgement please, it's not helpful). I have been self employed for a few years, managed to keep the family home but have a significant mortgage. I have been given a 2 day per week contract which will be equivalent to a whole weeks pay so I can't turn it down. I also have a flatmate and I declare this as income. Going on the centrelink website I am confused as to whether I will receive any assistance from the government (ie reduced daycare fees, a pension card etc.). If I was earning $75,000 per year with 100% care of the children will I receive anything? (This is a conservative estimate as I really don't wish to work more than 2-3 days given the age of my youngest).

    Thanks for your help!

Have you tried the rates estimate calculator? Obviously it tells you if you're entitled to pps but should also show something for daycare, pension card, family tax benefit.

    Hope that helps :-)

You would definitely get some ccb, full ccr, full ftb part b and a partial rate of ftb part a. You wouldn't get any PPS on that salary.
