The ibuprofen plus codeine medication is the only over the counter medication that will make a dent in your pain.
Panadol (paracetamol) will bring down a fever; nurofen (ibuprofen) will moderate mild pain; codeine has a mild narcotic effect; this in conjunction with the analgesic ibuprofen is your best bet

    Default Re: Best pain relief?

Panadeine extra is the strongest over the counter relief you can get, then take some normal ibuprofen with it.

Like pp said, go to doc and get a script for panadine forte. I'm actually surprised the dentist didn't send you home with one.
