So they didn't even try to do an internal? How odd ...
Like I said, I was 9 weeks and my ob couldn't find a heartbeat until he did an internal because my uterus is tilted so I'd say there's hope yet.
I would go back and demand an internal ultrasoud.

I went to my Ob at 8w with bleeding and even internal US he warned me could be too early to see HB, thankfully I did see it, but hopefully for your sister it is just too early.

I had a scan at 7+7 and they only got a HB with an internal scan. I'm surprised they didn't do one!

And it may be too early, it's a good sign if there was a sac and fetal pole though. Fingers crossed for her.

A bicornuate uterus (heart shaped uterus) is apparently harder to find a heartbeat so they certainly should have tried an internal scan. I still think that it's maybe just a tad early
