Default Why do doctors have to be so rude!!!! - vent

Went to the GP today because I've had on/off crampy pelvic pain for the last 12 months despite being on the pill. Not serious i need a day off work pain, just this is uncomfortable and it hurts but I'm going to get on with my day pain.

made me feel completely stupid, like the pain wasn't bad enough to see a doctor about. Arghh. Vent over.

There is nothing worse than an unsympathetic doctor Can you see someone else? Perhaps one recommended by a friend?

My girlfriend had that issue, had ultrasounds done and everything. They couldn't see anything wrong.
It didn't go away until she stopped taking the pill.

I had the same. Pains, irregular periods. I demanded an ultrasound which showed polycystic ovaries....when i asked what this meant in terms of fertility etc he told me to google it...GOOGLE IT!!!! Outrageous!!! I was so upset to begin with and this just made things ten times worse. I took my results to another gp. Anyway i guess what im trying to say is find a new gp...one that listens to you. You know your body so if you things somethings wrong then see as many doctors as you need to xxx

Hugs, I totally know what you mean. I nearly fainted from period pain once and paid $50 to have an a-hole doctor tell me 'some women just have really bad pains'. I also rang nurse on call and they were pretty unhelpful.

I agree with everyone, you need a nicer doctor! I hope you can find one.

    I'm sooo not surprised!

When I had horrendous morning sickness I went to the doctor and couldn't get in to see mine so I saw a random at the medical centre. She saked me what my symptoms were and she GOOGLED recommended medications to take!!
I had a look at her screen and said, "Are you seriously googling this?" She looked at me like I was the crazy one and said, "Yes I am". I was in shock! Once I recovered I told her that she was pretty much an idiot and to give me a script for Zofran. Then she said, "I don't know which one that is" and proceeded to GOOGLE it!! Needles to say I walked out on her after asking where on this planet she managed to get her medical licence!!!
