Most hospitals have strict visiting hours!
My local hospital had 10-12:30 for partners and your children only, they wouldn't even let my mum and dad in.
Visiting hours for everyone else was 3-8:30.

But with my hospital, and 2 others I've visited friends in recently, they certainly aren't strict at all - apart from the 2hr lunch period. I've turned up (at friends requested time) outside of normal visiting hours and the midwives have smiled and pointed the way to go.
