Default 5 year old car seat??

Not sure if this is in the right section but anyway!
I am pregnant and still have the carseat from when my daughter was a baby however that's going back 5 years and will be 6 years once bub is actually born. My question is would it still comply with standards and be safe to use? There is nothing physically wrong with it, it's actually in really good condition as DD grew out of it very quickly and it has never been in an accident!

Most recommendations are that yoy don't use anything older than 10 years so you should be fine. And the benefit is that you know how well it has been looked after!

I'm not sure. My friend was telling me that car seats actually come with an expiry date and most shouldn't be kept for more than 5 years.
I'm not sure though- i can't find a date on any of mine.

After 10 years they don't meet Australian standards. 5 years old is fine.

I'd say you'll be fine, especially if you've kept it in good condition.
