Hi,
I have my first HCG blodd test and my Dr said it was very good being a reading of 9000 which puts me in the 6 to 8 week pregnancy range, however I am certain I am only 5 weeks and 1 day at the time of the test, maybe a 2nd day if I ovulated a day early but couldnt be any earlier than that.
I have read it is generally one of 3 things, multiple, molar and wrong date. Ruling out wrong date leaves 2 options.
Has anyone else had a high reading at 5 weeks and wouldnt mind sharing how they progressed.
Would really appreciate your comments.![]()

HCG Level too high, any one else had high level at 5 weeks
I had a really high reading early, it was a multiple. We only had BT as I'd had ectopic and blood test twice in two days to ensure levels are doubling confirms pregnancy is in the right place.

Yep mine were around 12000 at 5 weeks & I panicked too as the Dr said they were really high. I googled way too much & seen horrible stories. But happy to let u know I am now feeding my 11week old perfect healthy son as I type :-) My dates were 100000% correct too as it was an IVF baby so I know the exact minute I conceived. My bub did measure 2-4 weeks ahead my whole pregnancy & sonographer constantly wanted to change my due date but we couldn't due to the IVF.

A scan now will rule out complete molar and probably partial molar and of course confirm multiples if present. If you're really worried ask for another blood test and if still really high ask for a dating scan to put your mind at ease.

Mine were 15500 @ 5w3d. Scan booked in 11/1 to see if molar or multiples. Mine are also doubling every 44hrs

I have another appointment on Thursday so I will ask for another blood test then, it is hopeful to see others with high readings who perfectly ok so thank you for sharing I wont fret so much. From what of read multiples are more likely than molars which are 1 in 1000.

Some woman have high hcg. It's just the way it is for them. All you can do is wait and see.
My hcg levels were high, but not thathigh (only out by 1-2 weeks and i did have a partial mole. My twins were similar, but, my single healthy baby was much the same!
Try not to let hcg.stress you to much. What will be will be

Hi Vicki
With my DD2 (who was an IVF bub) my HCG was 6000 at 5 weeks and then 11000 at 5 weeks and 3 days. She is now a beautiful 5 year old.
Good luck!!
