Or visit a hairdresser that would be my top suggestion as a hairdresser.

its more complicated then people think

Thanks I will do. I'm a bit worried now though, my hair doesnt seem to be burnt? Will it be okay for me to do another permanent colour? (It wont fall out?!)

Honestly I would go to a hairdresser. Over processed hair breaks. Trust me I went from long hair, tried to go blonde and ended up with a pixie cut all over, my hair was so damaged from the dye and bleach. This was years ago and I don't trust any home permanent colours now. Good luck!

Honestly I wouldn't do a permanent, you would be better I'd with a semi. Much gentler on you're hair. Also unless your 100% grey you probably don't need to be using a permanent colour.(again I'm not looking at you're hair so I'm just going with generalizations here)

from the sounds if it, I think it would be best to see a hairdresser, doesn't sound like it would be to.expensive to rectify either.

Hope you're hair is back to beautiful again soon, its amazing how much ones hair can effect your self confidence and every woman deserves to feel like a goddess

I havent done anything to fix it yet..if i wear it in a pony it is less obvious. I may wait a while before doing a semi permanent ash colour again as I have had quite severe post partum hair loss and seriously want to take care of it as much as possible. Thanks for all of your help!
