Default I think my DS is self weaning :(

    Hi ladies,
please move if I'm in the wrong thread

My DS 15 months decided this morning that instead of a breastfeed, he wanted a bottle of milk instead. (he gets watered down cows milk)
Is he self weaning? He has 2 feeds a day, morning and night before bed.
This morning I put him on the bed like normal, gave him my phone to play with while I got ready, all he did was scream and try and get off the bed, I put him down off the bed and he went to the kitchen, saw a bottle from yesterday and screamed and tried to get to it. Currently he is sitting at my feet drinking a bottle

    Thanks in advance

he could be, my DD1 self weaned at that age. She just stopped and never asked again and refused when I offered. It is a sad time for you if you're not ready....

Just keep offering as you normally would if you would like to keep going. He may change his mind tomorrow, toddlers are tricky like that

He isn't self weaning, your giving him the bottle of milk. If you don't want him to have it then throw them all out and offer him boob instead or water from a cup.

Yes, definitely could be weaning. My DD (14mo) only has one breastfeed in the morning when she wakes up, and some days it's a VERY quick feed. I think when they're eating lots of food, drinking plenty of water and breastfeeding has become a very small part of their diet, it's only natural that they start to lose interest.

My first was breastfed for nearly 4 years and was obsessed with breastfeeding at this age so I'm happy for DD to wean soon.

If you are ok with him weaning, then offering other milk drinks can encourage weaning.
