    Default Extended breastfeeding

I love the idea of tandem feeding and would love to try it. Now to just get pregnant again hmmmm....

I think full term feeding is probably a more accurate term - biologically speaking there's nothing 'extended' about feeding past 12 months, it's perfectly normal!

Good luck OP and remember its ok to negotiate a feeding relationship that's comfortable for you, ie just before bed and in morning, or night wean a a certain point, or whatever suits!

    Default Re: Extended breastfeeding

I fed DS til he was 2. By that stage i had enough of it, i'd regained all sensitivity and it felt horrible. Ds would have been happy to keep on feeding though.
Not many people really knew i still fed him so i didn't get much in the way of comments. My ex thought it was so so wrong as would have his mother.
Doctors usually asked if DS was formula fed at appointments. I would state he was breastfed. Their reactions were usually of shock at first that not only did i breastfeed but i still was. They would usually comment positively afterwards and offer words of encouragement.
