Just had to tell someone!! No one knew I was still feeding DS, not even my husband or family (because they didn't support it). So I had no one to tell!!
So after feeding him for 2 years and 7 months, I finally stopped the morning feed. It's been 4 days now. He has been pretty irritable and cried for it several times, but it was not as hard as dropping the night feed (the tantrums over that lasted a month...).
And this is my last child, so am done for good! But alas, now I have no excuse not to go on a diet...
Thanks for listening!

Good on you Glad you are happy with your decision. I'm sorry you are not supported at home. Two years and seven months is a mammoth effort. WELL DONE !

Congratulations on feeding for so long. How do you feel? I'm a bit sad about the thought of weaning DS2, he's 18 months and DS1 weaned at 22 months so I guess we're coming to the end. I only feed him once at bedtime but I've been pretty much pregnant or breast feeding for 5 years now so I'll miss the intimacy I think. No more babies for us now so it's going to be very strange.

Well done on continuing for so long when you were clearly unsupported by those closest to you. That's amazing.
Good luck with that diet....damned awful things they are.

Thank you for your responses! I just had to share it with someone, as it is pretty big news!!
I think I feel relieved mostly. My first I fed for 20 months and gave up when I was 6 months pregnant, so it really has dominated my life for the past 4.5 years.
And it will be a relief not to have such a big secret in the house. I was just so over all the nagging/pressure to give up that I stopped talking about it, and because I was always the one putting him to bed and getting up to him, with the door shut, it was just easier not to bring up that I was still feeding him.
