    Default New to fertility treatment

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to these boards. My partners and I (both 26) have been TTC since July 12 (still only early days I know). However, I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have 3/3 indicators for diagnoses though I seemed to have escaped many of the symptoms.

I was feeling okay about the diagnoses because it seemed quite easy to treat, but the 'just in case' sperm analysis for my partner came back pretty bad - 1 million instead of 20-40m.

I am currently in my first round of Clomid, but we've been told this is unlikely to work with such a low count. I am up to day 16 and they suggested we try anyway over the weekend, but theres still not been a hormone spike indicating ovulation anyway. He's a little bit down but quite positive but I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. My Dr said that following this cycle, we will redo his analysis and then talk about our next option which is IVF/ICSI.

I'm so grateful this tehcnology exists but can't believe we have arrived at what I thought was a last resort option so quickly. I'm a bit nervious about the idea of IVF - has anyone else been in the same situation and tried other methods first like IUI? Or is there anyone else at a similar stage in treatment?

    Esme xx
