    Really liking the name Olive but have friends with an Olivia.
    Too close?

    No Olive and Olivia are different names. I went to school with an Olivia and never even thought about her name being close to olive :thumbup:

    the only thing i see happening is that both will get shortened to Ollie..... if you really like the name though go for it...... as i hate to say it but friendships come and go and you never know if you'll be talking to the same group of friends 5 - 10 years down the track and you don't want to be kicking yourself for not choosing a name due to it being close to a friends child's name and besides they aren't the same!! and how often do you see them?

    Olivia will be 1 soon and gets Olivia, Liv, Livey and Ollie.

    We would use Liv.

    They were really good friends but live an hour away and this past year we have drifted apart lots so I do agree with that.

    I think they look more similar than sound.

    All the Olivias I know are Liv, Livi or Lilly.
