    Default I O'd, 3DPO and stressed.

    So I finally O'd on CD43 and it's now CD46.
I am worried my partner and I didn't DTD in time. We DTD CD40 and then on CD41 because I got my positive OPK and I didn't realize at the time it didn't mean that was the day of O.
I had a feeling it was O day on CD43 and we meant to DTD but we were busy during the day and then it just got later and we were too tired - I am bummed we didn't make the time.

So now my problem. I have heard the man needs 72hrs to get to its highest quality and highest sperm count. Because we DTD day 40 and then day 41 I am worried that day 41 didn't really count as there was prob no sperm there and if there was it wouldn't have been strong enough to wait around for a couple of days for my O day.

Could someone please let me know am I wrong? Is there any hope..?

The only thing giving me hope atm is I have VERY sore breasts still and I am 3dpo - it has never lasted this long before and it's been going on for a week.

I have heard 48 hours, not 72. For sperm being able to survive it depends as much on what your body is doing as well as some types of cm are more sperm friendly than others (ewcm apparently is very similar to what the sperm live in in the male body) Also, the LH spike indicates the start of O but the egg is released anywhere up to 24 hours after the start of the spike.

I know how you feel though, I was using FR OPK's this month as I didn't have time to get some off the Internet. I have ordeal if I have O'ed yet or not and I have done my insems already. Just preying now that I managed to catch O and my eggie.

I certainly think you have a chance!

Yes Ive read the replenishing quality sperm story aswell, the crap about only doing it once every 2-3 days.

I got UTD from doing it 3 times in 2 days! So either my husband has super sperm or its really just crap. Fertility specialists usually send their paitents home and request "do it every day for 5 days" ...

As previously said, The pos OPK is the surge then O happens 12 - 36hrs later. So. From DTD on CD 41 and O on C43 is 48hrs at the latest! Without knowing the exact hour you O'd (and nor will you unfortunately) and not knowing if you DTD morning or night... I think 48hrs prior is still plenty of chance!

Sperm can live for 3-5 days

Thanks ladies I have sorta gotten my hopes up (trying so hard not to!) but because my CM is not dry like it usually is after O and also my breasts are still really sore especially my nipples - I don't recall them ever being this sore for so long so *fingers crossed*..

Sperm can live for several days, waiting for that egg. I am in the same situation. Last insem was 2 days prior to O, but I hope it will be ok. Good luck!
