    I felt a sense of relief as well. DS will probably thrive on having two happy parents in two happy homes than two unhappy parents in one unhappy home.

    Do you need to go to centrelink tomorrow?

    You won't have to wait long if you go first thing in the morning, I think they open at 8 or 8.30, could you take DS with some snacks and cars to play with? I had to take my little one with me.

    They'll ask you for the names and numbers of two people they can call to confirm the separation and they can't be family.

    ETA - you can be 'separated under the one roof'
