Smacking your child

So I'm just woundering if you think it's ok to smack your child??

I got smacked as a child. I even got the wooden spoon across the back of the legs. I turned out okay and I don't have any bad feelings about it. My brother and I laugh about it now.

I haven't been for smacking, but I wasn't against it either.

I have a 3 year old DD. I smacked her on the bum once for cutting holes in all of her dresses. As soon as I got down to her level and smacked her she whipped around in horror and shock and slapped me with full force across the cheek. We were both horrified

I realised then and there that smacking had no place in my home. How do I explain to her that it's ok for me to smack her but she can't smack me, or anyone else for that matter.

That was the first and last smack that she ever received from me.

I don't judge anyone for smacking though, it's their choice as a parent to make.

IMO and it's only my opinion, smacking my child is about as ok as someone bigger smacking me.

Only when she is really naughty.

Like when she whinges so much do-gooders call the police to the car I've left her in while I am at the pokies.

I always crack the window. What more does she want?
