    Default Ferning or opk

Hey just torn as to what to believe, had ferns cd12 and opk was nearly ready. Cd 13 no ferns but stronger opk. I'm sure I've O now but just curious as to what is more reliable

I found my maybe baby completely unreliable. Is it usually accurate for you?

I never used an OPK, used the maybe baby for one ovulation and fell pregnant, so I have to say it's reliable!

I've read for and against maybe baby, I think it's an individual thing. Some woman reported have ferns quite a bit through their cycle and not getting a true result. I would go for the OPK result personally, but I've not had much luck with them either. I think I have a very quick surge and always miss it. Is it your first cycle using maybe baby?

Maybe Baby didn't work for me - I never got a 'true' result with it, always had pebbles with my ferns! I was temping and using OPKs when I got my BFP (temping to confirm I did ovulate as your body can produce a LH surge and not actually ovulate - only temping can confirm O without a blood test).

I could be wrong, but I think the ferning is in response to oestrogen. An OPK is looking for the LH surge. Oestrogen surge happens, THEN you get the LH surge, THEN you ovulate. So it sounds right to me that you got the ferning the day before a positive OPK.
