Default random stuff that frightens your kids...

My DS would never allow me to take out the plug in bath when he was little... the noise scared him. DD is 4 monts old and I've just started singing animal sounds to her... but she cries when I 'Mooooo"... lol..

    Blow flies!

DS1 (3yrs) is absolutely terrified of them. Not an ideal fear to have in Australia..

My kids hate bugs in general but especially spiders, moths/butterflies, bees and cicadas.

It used to be frogs. She was scared of them, which was funny... but her word for them was more funny. She could say actual words, but for some reason, came up with "schlom," for frogs. She'd see one and be all, "ARGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! SCHHLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!" lol.

DD went through a horrible phase of being terrified of her shadow! Funny in hindsight but caused alot of issues at the time as she refused to go outside if the sun was out, refused to walk into a well lit room at night, etc. Glad it didn't last long!!

My adult DD is terrifed of butterflies, when she was 16 the nurse had hang a sheet up in the waiting room for surgery as the picture of a butterfly on the wall was freaking her out.

DD2 is scared of birds and the vacuum plus heap of loud mechanical nosies

This just cracked me up! Dh is asking what's so funny.
Dd isn't scared of anything yet, although she screams blue murder when oldies lean into the stroller and say she's cute!

DS used to be terrified of the vacuum cleaner. These days he follows me around trying to touch the buttons on it!

My niece was terrified of shadows for a while too, but only in her bedroom at home and the room she sleeps in at my parents house! We initially thought she was seeing ghosts then realised it was shadows that were scaring her.
