Default What did u want to be when u grew up?

    So many things
    Nurse
    Fashion designer
    Interior decorator
    Family day carer
    Psychologist
    Lawyer
    Egyptologist
    Anthropologist
    Chef
    Writer

I've not finished anything I've started studying :-(
I've worked in a few different areas and am now working in mental health.
I have no idea what I want to do professionally and it upsets me sometimes.
All I know now is that I want a large family. Problem is I'm already 26 and have no babies. And being a lesbian....not so easy to get pregnant :-/

As a child I wanted to be an archaeologist, then found out it was nothing like.Indiana Jones made it seem
As a teen I wanted to be a journalist, but got pretty disillusioned with that when I realised how few media outlets I would be willing to sell my soul to (i have some journo friends who have pretty much confirmed this for me- they fight the good fight but are slowly becoming more cynical)
Went to uni and decided first year that i wanted to be a developmental psychologist, then as soon as I realised how much stats you have to do to study psychology that went right out the window.

I am now a librarian. I used to spend *hours* playing libraries when I was a kid, I even had date slips and spine labels on all my books what a dork! I never thought of it as a career back then, though.

Teacher or vet. Nope, didn't do it. So far I haven't managed any of the things I dreamed of doing as a kid. I'm currently studying law instead and hating it, but I feel too old to change courses now.

    Become a doctor.

    Am now a midwife.

My dream now when I grow up is to work at House or Pillow Talk. The things those stores do to my inner domestic goddess.

Ultimate dream is to own a bookshop like Meg Ryan's in You've Got Mail.

I wanted to be a rock star or a lawyer.

I'm now a lawyer and I'm a rock star when no one else is home

When I was 7 I designed (in detail) a Vet Hospital. I explained how it would function, who I would hire etc etc. I wanted to run the business and the books etc. Very strange. I also wanted to be a Vet, but that was secondary to the rest.

Everyone told me I should do something artistic for a career.

I would still love to own a Vet Hospital. But being a Vet is probably out of the question. I also should do more art and not be lazy.

I've spent a decade in the Transport Industry, covering a variety of operational and administrative management positions. Hardly the direction I had so carefully thought out.
