    OMG i just thought it was me that couldn't open those tomato paste tubs they are seriously horrible. I can always get the coloured top part off but there is still a covering of clear plastic it seriously annoys me

    Yes! I don't even bother trying to open them now, I go straight for the knife. I'm too scared that I'm going to pull it really hard and end up wearing it

    How funny I had a rant over those stupid tubs yesterday and hubby thought I was mad. It's the same with salsa jars.

    I buy the Coles brand ring pull ones to avoid that very problem. Cheaper too.

    I tip them upside down, put a tiny hole in it, let air escape and then knife along the bottom. I developed this technique when first dating DH in order to test what freaked him out.
