First time here posting. My DF and I are from North West NSW, we have our first appointment with FS on 4th April with QFG Auchenflower.

What can I expect from my first appointment? I am a little nervous but more excited than anything!

nickle- hi!! first appointment you can expect a scan and blood tests for everything under the sun. your partner will need to do a sperm sample too ( take home). also, a million questions about your medical history and your family's medical history. normally they will wait for the results of all those tests and then formulate a plan. been ttc for long?

Won't need tests for sperm, my partner is female :-) Should have been more clear in my first post. So we will be using donor sperm.

We have been talking about starting a family for a while, and I figured I'm not getting any younger, so best we start ttc sooner than later :-)

We have to travel 5 hours to our clinic, so I expect we'll be having a few trips to Brisbane in the beginning :-)

Not sure if anyone know, but just looked when my appointment is and AF is expected to be visiting, can they still do the intrauterine scan??

hi nickle- sorry about the sperm comment. i think its wonderful that you and your partner are going to have kids. my sister and her partner have two and its very cool because they each carried one child. so happy that the donor sperm option is available so beautiful mums can have children. in terms of the af, my specialist will scan anyway. its a bit unpleasant i suppose but they are used to delivering babies and there is soooo much blood then. its really irrelevant to them.
