Default When should I book in?

As the topic states, when should I book in at the hospital? I'm 9w4d & plan to go public. My GP said I stay with him until 25weeks then go to the hospital midwives, but I had to see a gyno a few days ago & his midwife told me I need to book in now, coz they get booked quite quickly. Not sure what to do! When I was pregnant with my son I didn't have a regular GP so I went to the hospital midwives for the whole thing.
The midwife gave me the booking number, no answer, but the answering maching said if you have a referral & are over 10weeks leave a message.
    When did you book in?

My gp didn't say anything about booking in so I'd very much like to know as well!

    Are you doing shared care?

That's what I'm doing and I had a hospital appointment at 14 weeks (ideally you have the appointment between 12-14 weeks) and i don't go back to the hospital until 20 weeks. All my other appointments are with me GP until I think 30 or 36 weeks when I go back to my GP.

My experience is book a bed over the phone as soon as you know you are pregnant then paperwork after 18 week scan. I didn't know either and booked in at 20+ weeks and booking clerk laughed saying I was lucky to get in.

Might give them a call =) does anyone know if I need a referral? I don't think I had one last time. Don't particularly want 2 go to the dr just for the referral

12 weeks is usually the time they get you in for first appt.

You'll need a referral from your GP (I had to get one even though I don't go to him for anything else and I was seeing an RI at the time!)

If you're going public you shouldn't need a referral.
